I walk in the streets of Paris and I meet a lot of American tourists. I see them with a map of the city, trying to figure out where the hell are they. That's kind of funny :) and when they ask to French people some directions they ask in English :(. Ok I agree that English is the International language but wait...here we're in Paris. Although there is a very multicultural ethcnic groups, most of the people won't respond in English or don't want to. Why?
1. French people suck in English
2. We simply don't want to talk this language
3. We would like you tourists to do some efforts in talking the local language: so, please here are few tips....
"s'il vous plait" = please
"pouvez-vous m'aider s'il vous plait?" = could you please help me?...
"Je veux aller à cette adresse" = I want to reach this adress...
"Merci" = thanks
"Où se trouve ce monument?" = where is this monument located?
"Combien c'est ?" = How much is it?
"Je voudrais aller à cet hotel..." = I would like to go to this hotel...
So, if you do efforts in talking French, maybe French people would do some efforts in talking English... :) It's that simple!
